Sunnybrae Water Treatment Plant
Sunnybrae Water Treatment Plant
Gentech was retained by the CSRD to provide an updated assessment report on the Sunnybrae water system. With support from the assessment report, the CSRD were successful in their grant application and had Gentech proceed with the design and construction of the first phase of upgrades, which included:
- 675m – 300mm lake intake;
- 9.2m – 2400mm wet well, complete with twin 20HP vertical turbine pumps;
- 67.5m² masonry block pump house, complete with UV disinfection and chlorination;
- a chlorine contact chamber; and
- complete site servicing and grading for the new treatment plant.
Gentech designed the new treatment plant to meet current water demand (75 users) with capacity to expand as the service area grows and develops. Gentech was responsible for the topographic survey, preliminary and detailed design, obtaining permits with approving authorities, project coordination with other consultants, tendering, contract administration, site inspection, record documentation, and liaison with regional district representatives, sub-consultants, contractors, suppliers, the local fire department, and adjacent property owners.
This project was completed in June 2018.
